Turkey earthquake: Deadly new tremor traps people under rubble

Turkey earthquake: Deadly new tremor traps people under rubble

On Friday, a deadly earthquake struck the eastern coast of Turkey, trapping people under rubble and killing at least 39 people. The magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit the province of Elazığ at 8:55pm local time, causing buildings to collapse and devastating the city of Elazığ.

The death toll is expected to rise as rescue personnel are still searching for survivors. As of Saturday morning, there were more than 1,000 people reported to have been injured. The tremor was felt as far away as the capital Ankara, about 350 miles away.

This is the second major earthquake to strike Turkey in the past month. A magnitude 7.0 quake struck the western province of Manisa in late January, killing at least 41 people and injuring more than 1,000.

Turkey is located in one of the most seismically active regions in the world, and the country is no stranger to earthquakes. In August of 1999, a magnitude 7.4 quake struck Istanbul, killing more than 17,000 people and injuring over 44,000.

This latest earthquake in Elazığ has caused a great deal of destruction and displacement. As of Saturday morning, more than 300 buildings have collapsed, while some 1,000 are reported to have suffered major damage.

The Turkish government has mobilized emergency response teams to the area to attend to the injured and search for survivors in the rubble. There is also a massive relief effort underway from both local and international aid organizations.

Though the death toll from this latest earthquake is still unknown, it’s clear that the destruction and displacement it has caused is significant. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Turkey as they struggle to cope with the aftermath of this tragedy.

ROMAN REIGNS SAVES UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH THRILLER OVER SAMI ZAYN IN WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER 2023

The WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 was an exciting night of sports-entertainment, featuring some of the top Superstars in the world. It was a night that would ultimately crown the undisputed Universal Champion in a thrilling match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.

In the end, it was Roman Reigns who emerged victorious, successfully defending his title and retaining his championship. It was a hard-fought match that could have gone either way, as both men put on a show for the fans in attendance.

The match saw Reigns and Zayn go back and forth for the majority of the bout. Both men displayed their technical prowess, trading suplexes and other signature moves in an effort to gain the upper hand. It was an even contest until Reigns landed a massive Superman Punch on Zayn, setting up the Spear and the pinfall victory.

The victory was a huge moment for Reigns, who has been on a roll since returning to the WWE in 2012. He has been the company’s top star for the past several years and this title victory will only add to his legacy.

For Zayn, the loss was a bitter pill to swallow. He put on a valiant effort but ultimately fell short of his goal. He will undoubtedly be looking for revenge in the near future and hopefully he can make it back to the top of the mountain soon.

At the end of the day, the WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 lived up to the hype and was another memorable pay-per-view in the company’s long history. Roman Reigns is still the undisputed Universal Champion and will be looking to defend his title against anyone who is brave enough to challenge him.

Newcastle vs. Liverpool result, highlights and analysis as Nunez and Gakpo see off 10-man hosts

Nunez and Gakpo see off 10-man Liverpool in Newcastle vs. Liverpool result, highlights, and analysis

The battle between Newcastle United and Liverpool was a gripping affair that ended in a 2-0 victory for the away team. In a match that saw the home side go down to 10 men, Newcastle were unable to capitalise on their numerical advantage as Liverpool held firm and eventually got the job done to secure the three points.

Newcastle were the brighter of the two sides in the early exchanges, pressing forward and creating chances. However, they were unable to find the breakthrough as Liverpool defended stoutly. Newcastle were then dealt a blow in the 27th minute when Federico Fernandez saw red for a late challenge on Georginio Wijnaldum.

The home side then had to reorganise and batten down the hatches as Liverpool pushed for the opener. The breakthrough finally came in the 66th minute when Ronny Gakpo rose highest to nod home a cross from Dutch compatriot Georginio Wijnaldum. Liverpool then doubled their lead in the 73rd minute when Facundo Nunez latched onto a through ball from Xherdan Shaqiri and fired home from close range.

The result sees Liverpool maintain their unbeaten start to the season and move level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. For Newcastle, they remain without a win in their last five outings, though they were unlucky not to take something from this encounter, having more than held their own until the red card.

Overall, it was a gutsy performance from the hosts but unfortunately, the numerical disadvantage proved too much to overcome. For Liverpool, they will be pleased with the result, but they will no doubt be looking to find more creative attacking outlets going forward.

Rashford and Sancho fire Manchester United to victory over Leicester

Manchester United’s victory over Leicester, Rashford and Sancho led the charge

Manchester United have recorded a comprehensive victory over Leicester City, with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both getting on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils went into the game knowing that a win would take them level on points with Leicester, who have been in good form so far this season, and it was Rashford who opened the scoring in the first half with a superb strike from the edge of the box.

The England international then turned provider for Sancho, who added a second shortly after the break with a powerful finish from a tight angle.

Leicester threw everything forward in search of a goal but United held firm, with Luke Shaw adding a third late on to secure a much-needed victory for the visitors.

It was a fine performance from United, who put in a solid shift both defensively and offensively, with Rashford and Sancho taking the headlines.

The duo have been in scintillating form so far this season, and they once again proved how much of an impact they can have on the team. Their combination play was a real joy to watch, and it was no surprise to see them both on the scoresheet.

Manchester United will now look to build on this victory as they continue their push for the top four. They will face a tough test on Wednesday when they take on Aston Villa, but with Rashford and Sancho in such good form, they will be confident of getting the job done.

Trump ridiculed for pretending he has been ‘exonerated’ by Georgia grand jury over his bid to overturn election

Trump ridiculed for pretending he has been ‘exonerated’ by Georgia grand jury over his bid to overturn election

“Trump’s Shameless Attempt to Subvert Democracy: See How He Was Justly Held to Account!”

In an article published by The Guardian, President Donald Trump was ridiculed for claiming he had been “exonerated” by a Georgia grand jury over his bid to overturn the US presidential election. The grand jury was convened to investigate accusations of voter fraud in Georgia. The grand jury did not exonerate Trump of any charges, and instead, charged two Trump allies with felonies related to their efforts to overturn the election.

Trump and his allies had alleged that there was widespread voter fraud in Georgia, and the grand jury was convened to investigate these claims. However, the grand jury found no evidence of widespread voter fraud, and instead charged two Trump allies with felonies related to their efforts to overturn the election. Trump responded to the news by claiming he had been “exonerated” by the grand jury, a statement which was widely ridiculed by legal experts and commentators.

The grand jury’s decision to charge two Trump allies with felonies related to their efforts to overturn the election is seen as a major setback for the President and his allies. It is also seen as a victory for democracy and the rule of law, as the grand jury did not exonerate Trump of any charges.

“Trump’s Desperate Attempt to Overturn Election Results: Exoneration Not Guaranteed!”

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to claim he received a “blanket exoneration” from the Georgia grand jury investigating his attempt to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.

“Thank you to the Special Grand Jury of the Great State of Georgia for your patriotism and courage. Total exemption. The USA is very proud of you!!!” Mr. Trump wrote on Thursday.

“The long-awaited important sections of the Georgia report, which don’t even mention President Trump by name, have nothing to do with the president because President Trump has done absolutely nothing wrong,” he argued. “The president participated in two perfect phone calls regarding the integrity of the election in Georgia, which he has the right to do — in fact, as president, it was President Trump’s constitutional duty to ensure the safety, security and integrity of the election.”

“Between the two calls, there were many officials and lawyers on the line, including the Georgia Secretary of State, and no one objected, even slightly protested or hung up. President Trump will always continue to fight for real and honest elections in America!” he wrote.

Twitter users were quick to mock his claims.

“As stupid as he is, even he knows this is BS. But he’s cunning enough to know the cultists will buy it,” attorney Ron Filipkowski wrote.

“Wow, I am amazed again and again by people’s ignorance. And the manipulation is beyond me… Nowhere does the grand jury say he’s innocent,” Bonnie Christopher added.

“Here’s the thing. Trump doesn’t care about winning. He already knows he’s a loser. He just needs people to *think* he’s the boss. That’s why he always lies. So “I’m not going to jail now” puts him in the place of “quite happy”. He thinks like any small-scale loser,” Nathan Standing wrote.

“Georgia grand jury says it appears members of Trump’s inner circle committed perjury. And Trump’s claim of voter fraud was non-existent. Trump claims he was totally exonerated. As always, Trump is full of shit,” actor and director Rob Reiner said.

Norm Eisen, CNN legal analyst PLEASE NOTE that the grand jury report stated that “we unanimously find that there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 Georgia presidential election that could lead to the overturning of that election.”

“The special GA grand jury has spoken — that means Trump has committed crimes. He will be indicted,” Mr. Eisen said.

“Lies and mayhem. It’s the MAGA brand,” the said the Lincoln Project in reaction to the news that the inquest’s witnesses may have lied.

“Trump must have misread the report ‘We have presented the Court with our recommendations on indictments and relevant laws.’ The rest has been redacted. It appears that the indictment recommendations are coming from the Georgia Grand Jury,” said Jonathan Ford said regarding Mr. Trump’s “exoneration” request.

Adam Klasfeld of Law and Crime PLEASE NOTE that Mr. Trump’s statement celebrated “the fact that the published portions of the Georgia grand jury’s special report — which recommended indictments and was specifically redacted to omit all names — did not mention him once.”

Donald Trump took to social media to claim he had been “totally exonerated” by a Georgia grand jury investigating his attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results. However, the grand jury report stated that there was no widespread fraud in the election. Trump argued that he had done nothing wrong and was merely exercising his constitutional duty to ensure the safety and integrity of the election. Twitter users were quick to mock his claims, with many pointing out that the grand jury report did not mention Trump by name, and that it recommended indictments. Adam Klasfeld of Law and Crime noted that the report was redacted to omit all names and did not mention Trump once. Jonathan Ford pointed out that the report recommended indictments, but the names were redacted. The Lincoln Project responded to the news that the inquest’s witnesses may have lied, saying “Lies and mayhem. It’s the MAGA brand”. CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen argued that the grand jury report meant Trump had committed crimes and would be indicted. In conclusion, Donald Trump’s claims of exoneration were met with widespread mockery and disbelief, with many pointing out that the grand jury report did not mention Trump by name and recommended indictments.
